Here it is…Victory day celebration….
A bit lazy to write it ..so PICTURES speaks better than WORDS… agree?
Hahahaha….
Actually, we were planning to go at 8am to RED SQUARE.. around 20 minutes walk to there…but some people couldn’t wake up… so we postponed it to 9am....
when we went out..there were so many people in front of our university... so we decided not to walk to the red square and just joined the crowd there....
The road was closed… no cars passing by… there were many polices there….
A lot of flowers were on sale that day…. Why? Later on you will know…
These group of young people were all lining up to prepare for the parade later on….
The banner behind there written “With a holiday of a VICTORY”
A row of people standing in front carrying the flags… waiting for the right time to start the parade…
Saw this …ermm…general?? With many badges on his uniform…
Took a picture with this retired old army and yet so strong…. Take a look at his badges….
He is carrying ‘kan nai xin’ flower… what’s it called in English?
The person besides me named wong hong weng…he has a blog too… wonghongweng.blogspot.com
Take a visit on his blog… he wrote about a parade on the labor day..didnt know there were a parade on that day...
The most right side is Eng Haw…the follow by Alex….
One more person was carrying the camera….
They were a lot of people all around… waiting for the parade to start…
Follow by a big group of people behind the bands……….
They were still waiting… waiting for who… a few minutes later…
A group of cars arrived… I think is the VIP …… then follow by a bus…maybe bringing the people from the village…
More and more people joining the crowd… almost every one of them was carrying flowers with them….
A few minutes before the parade started… a reporter came towards us… me ran away avoiding them…
The one got caught by them was Patrick… he was interviewed by them.....
OH ya…see the black and orange stripes ribbon? Everyone was putting this on their shirt or jacket…
Don’t know what is it symbolized….we also got one from a girl who was distributing it…
At 9.30am sharp… the bands ready for the parade… Bands went off first..followed by…
Slowly walking to the destination…
Passing by the round about…there is a fountain in the middle of the round about…it will be on only on special occasion like victory day and… erm…. I think it was functioning only on victory day..hahaha…
Took a group picture in front of the parade …..
Left to right… Patrick, me, Alex and Siaw Chin who joined us a bit later….
A complete group picture of all of us… a very kind reporter offered us his help to take a photo for all of us..thanks to him…
From left to right…
Wong hong weng, Lim eng haw, Patrick, Me, Alex ng, Wong siaw chin…
There are flowers, tulips blossoming only in summer…
A close picture on the tulips…
The crowd slowly passing by the round about…
The reporters, so many of them!
What a big big mass of people!! The biggest crowd of people I ever seen here….
Passing by a Pentecostal church….
There were again… people selling flowers in front of the church…
Fathers…. Lining up…waiting to join the parade …..
Almost reaching the destination….more people at the destination waiting for the parade…
This is it..the Memorial Park which they were heading to…. It is a park built for the remembrance of all the soldiers who die bravely in the war…. A very big and beautiful park…it is a good place for jogging too…
Saw these young ladies.. carrying big bunch of ‘kan nai xin’ flowers… different colors…purple and white….
Young soldiers?? Or young AIR soldiers?? Don’t know la… so many kinds of soldiers… designated by different types of the uniforms they are wearing…
Kan nai xin flowers again.. I thought this flowers are only specially for Mother’s day?? Hmm….
The bands… marching towards in front…….
Towards here…… again… a group of soldiers was there waiting for the arriving of the parade
Another group of soldiers lining neatly besides….
The submarine soldiers? I think so… this small place was built in remembrance of the soldiers who trapped and died in the submarine years ago…heard before? I heard about this from a friend..
Another group of soldiers or polices?…
An ambulance was readied for emergency cases…
Wow! so many people !!! Which tells us how important is the VICTORY DAY for all of them!
Ok…finish spying around…. Ceremony was going to start.. Ceremony of laying down the flowers and paying their respect to the soldiers? Most probably...
2 soldiers carrying the flower garland to the front…
After the flower garland was set on place… VIP laying down their flowers on the memorial monument…
There were 6 flower garlands needed to be put on place ….
So many Reporters were standing in front ….
After all the flowers garlands were put on… all the troops of soldiers marching out from the place…
The crowds behind slowly moving forward to put their own flowers and pay their respect to the dead soldiers…..
This banners were put on along the road a week ago before the 9th of MAY….
Like we put on the jalur gemilang along the road during national day…
This is the list of programs on 9th of May… starting from 8.45 am until 10.00 pm at night….
We didn’t know there was an early parade at 8.45am..we all thought the parade wont start so early…
But it was good enough to join the parade at 9.30 am one..hahaha…
Maybe I will try to translate that list of programs so I can know more about it…
Visit Johnny for more about victory day!
Last but not least… HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MUM!!! LOVE YOU!!
